For this Project, I created two paper stacked sculptures, one that is fruit and the other being an inventive and unique. Paper stacking is when layers of peper are glued together to create a three dimensional form.

For my first paper stack I created a pomegranite using over 300 layers of paper, sanded down to create a smooth form.

For my creative stack I set out to make a creature or insect that is deceptive in appearance. It was designed to mimic animals or insects that camoflauge themselves as spiky or dangerous things in order to fool or avoid predators, but they are actually gentle. The underside is made to mimic both geodes, amethyst crystals, and the more organic underbellys of animals that secrete slime in order to avoid capture. The paper portions of the creature are the spikes at the top and the crystals on the underbelly of the sculpture.
